Date Posted: 22:20:20 08/01/05 Mon Trent Barton's invested in new busses pretty much every year from my observation, already decent busses are being replaced with even better ones (Mickleover routes for instance). From what I know Arriva is a very large company, and is constantly increasing its fares however theres some really ancient looking vehicles (i.e 20 year old Volvo Citybus's). Ok theres been some investment (the Chellaston Dart's, DAFs) but considering Arriva are increasing the fares on a regular basis it would be nice if we were using some decent quality new busses. I make use of the Chellaston darts and even those are looking shabby, the route displays are barely working, most are in need of a repaint, the seats are full of burn holes and covered in graffiti and there braking down all the time. Another complaint is the lack of seats brought upon by having two large buggy spaces at the front (those who live in Osmaston are lucky if the Driver stops the bus is so packed!). I've heard rumours theres going to be another "60" route which will go by the new housing estate in Chellaston. Is this the case? Another observation is that the 61 (Glenwood Road via Sinfin Avenue) has been doing a joint route, serving Maple Drive and Fellowlands Way -perhaps due to the lack of busses or regular break downs?
