Perhaps she was getting too old for all of this, as her eyes did at last spy Morley behind the bar. How she could have missed him she didn't know. She was soon to see Mary again as well, if not being dragged out in a smear of tomatoe soup. My,what a grandiose display! It tickled that curiousity in her further, to the point that she pressed her luck and decided the afternoon was no better off spent than in watching the goings on. She played witness to Jaydens landing on the floor, to a free drink at Morleys expense (something she took a private delight in, to have a drink at his expense), to the lovely Captains display of anger in nearly leaving, and the subsequent coaxing of the woman into the back room. She also bore witness to Angus' return to the common room, and the beginnings of his careful watch. She wasn't all that surprised. Old Bob wasn't one to let his backside go unguarded. The question remained, was her camoflauge good enough? Every town had their old women, half respected and half shunned..but did any of them frequent this place? She could have been just an old relic, some pirate's mother or the one that swabbed the floors of puke and piss at night and regularly came in for a cup to ease her old bones. Was she a strange face, or simply one that had been seen here before? That would be the call of Angus.
While she did not wish to be recognized, she did not fear being revealed should that occur. It was simply something she did not wish to deal with. She had no beef with Bob or his business,or his town, and she held nothing he might want from her. Indeed, her afternoon here was simply in watching and satisfying a bit of curiousity and no intention of anything more.
Of course this never meant she wasn't up to trouble if trouble should present itself, but when Angus' eye fell on the old woman bent over her cup, she calmly endured it without giving away any clue as to the masquerade, and there was a hidden, slow smile at wondering what conclusion Angus would come to.
