"I'm sorry. I think we got off on the wrong foot. Can we start again?"

"I think so too. Good idea." he almost immediately felt some of the tension begin to wane and watched her fumbling around for something in her bag, his head tilted slightly with curiosity. As she proceeded in removing a nearly full bottle of vodka, he raised his eyebrows and nodded as if mightily impressed. "Oh well hello there. Do you always carry one around with you? Or am I just lucky?" he said with a small grin.

"Will you have a drink with me, as a gesture of gratitude for you taking pity on a stranger?"

"But of course my fair lady. Naturally it is but the duty of a gentleman to oblige by the lady's wishes." he said in a comically posh accent, giving a little bow. It was amazing what alcohol could do, and he hadn't even had any yet. Still, when he was around friends he generally was a bit of a goofball if the situation was appropriate, he wasn't normally a tense and nerve-wrecked person. Coming to think of it, he had no idea where their original uneasiness had even come from, let alone where it had gone too now. He still wasn't sure what she was, and he was guessing she wasn't sure what he was either, but he'd decided to stop beating himself up over it and just leave it at that. The truth would reveal itself when it felt like doing so.
