I have followed this discussion and would like to second especially Maria's and mrs_ladybird's positions. It is the right and the duty of a mother or anyone who is likewise in charge of the boy's upbringing to maintain a sufficient impression of the boy's development in all aspects. As society has decided that females shall be the primary caregivers for most issues, including hygiene and health, for children and adolescents of both genders there can be no ground for refusal of a boy to undress and be examined nude in front of the respective female.
I do, however, not agree with the latest post of Dawn. Someone seems to confuse fantasy and reality here. The necessary inspections and the attendance of exams is done out of maternal responsibilty and care for the child's wellbeing. It should not bring pleasure to a mother to humiliate her child or to expose it to unnecessary bystanders. While I agree that in certain cases the presence of a female sibling during the examination of a brother can be of educational value, the kind in which Dawn depicted the course of events it seems that her motives where at least ambigiuous and the events described maybe never happened.
