Shippervillians who had already sat on Santa's rather bony lap went over to a table in the corner. The Mayor, who ALWAYS was first in line sat down with her back to the door. This seemed rather odd to LieutenantCJSmithMD and CW. Typically the Mayor liked to see what was going on but apparently not today.

"What's wrong, oh illustrious Mayor?" quizzed CW. "Something bothering you?"

Looking around the room furtively the Mayor leaned over the table and whispered "I'm worried about Mulder. He didn't share any information other than he had an assignment."

Looking around the room, CW and her handsome companion both returned their gazes to the Mayor. Nodding, LieutenantCJSmithMD said quietly "his country needs him."

Kande brought a pitcher of her famous eggnog and four glasses to the table. As she sat down, she shook her head, sighed and said "it's so hard to find good help these days."

"Oh for pity's sake" snapped the usually calm CW "be glad your little green buddy is only an alien and not the Grinch."

"Yea, things could be worse you know" added the Mayor as she poured the almost forgotten eggnog into the glasses. "At least he's here and not off on some goofy goose chase somewhere else!"

As they sipped the scruptious eggnog, CW turned and asked her friend what letter they should reveal next. He leaned over and whispered in her ear, much to the Mayor's consternation. She wanted to figure this thing out just as badly as everybody else. "I'm so close" she thought.

"OK, since you've already figured out two other letters, you will get a two-fer today" she quietly announced.

All eyes turned to the table, tongues hanging out in eager anticipation. Looking slightly startled, CW grabbed the table centerpiece. After giving it a good hard shake she wasn't surprised to find a hidden microphone. Glaring at KS who was grinning a bright shiny metallic grin which spread from ear to ear through her fake, fuzy beard, CW stomped on the microphone and sat back down.

"Oh, phooy" mumbled KS as she had to stop and untangle her beard from her braces. "I suppose I will have to find someway to get the next clue from the Mayor" she thought and then shuddered as her fines for the year had not yet been paid.

While KS worked on her beard, CW leaned over and whispered the next clue to the Mayor. "The MD is exactly that--Medical Doctor" she confided.

"What did you say" asked Kande "I didn't hear you."

Smiling a triumphant smile, the Mayor answered her with "all in due time my dear--all in due time." Then she got up from her chair and left the Klub humming some obscure Christmas song.

"Time to go my dear" said the now grinning LieutennantCJSmith, M.D. "Let's leave them to entertain themselves and Santa."
