...impatiently awaiting his turn on Santa's lap. Even though the whole Christmas thing doesn't make sense to him (especially this whole Santa thing, to say nothing of KS in that Santa outfit), he likes getting presents.

Finally! He's next!

As CW lists all the knitting paraphernalia she'd like this year, Bubba pulls out his list and checks it twice. He's heard you're supposed to do that. He doesn't want to screw this up.

Just as CW finishes and the Dancing Danas, who are dressed as elves, wave Bubba up, Kande bursts into the klub.

"BUBBA!" she screams. Everyone stops talking; even the holiday music stops. "There's a speck of dirt on my car! WHY HAVEN'T YOU WASHED IT OFF?!?"

Bubba sighs and hangs his head. Ever since Kande bought that 2005 Subaru Impreza Outback station wagon (a delightful forest green), she's been a maniac about keeping it clean. She was never this way about the old car. Stuffing his list back in his pocket, he grabs a chamois cloth on his way out the door.

Meanwhile, KS takes this opportunity to tug at the waistband of the snug Santa pants. "Good thing they left out the padding!" she thinks to herself. Before she can find a comfortable position, IG hops onto her lap.

"Islandgirl's 2004 Christmas List, Chapter One!" IG says perkily. The rest of the line groans.
