"What?! Are you out of your eensy-weensy mind?!" KM now does a real throttling act on Kande. "That's my job you're talking about."

"You know," KS says calmy, ignoring the throttling going on behind her, "Kande actually has a point. Who among us has not wanted a clone at some point or another?"

"We've all got clones," Stardoe informs her, shaking her head as KM starts thumping Kande against the floor.

"Yeah, but we only haul them out when we're away. They don't actually do our jobs," KS tells her. "I mean, we've got the clamPed Kande, for example, but she doesn't run the bar. She just cleans our houses. Plus we make her pose in embarrassing ways for a good laugh. Bubba doesn't look anything like the Mayor."

"Oh, I get it," CW nods and pokes at Kande with a knitting needle to make sure KM hasn't gotten carried away and actually killed her. "Bubba is really doing mayoral work. Which means KM can go out and play somewhere."

KM lets loose of Kande. "You mean, I can actually go on vacation and not have to worry about missing any fines?"

KS nods. "Yup."

"I can go to a spa and Bubba will collect enough fines to cover the cost?"

"Ayup," Stardoe says then puts her face in her hands. Now she sounds like a Sheriff from Maine.

"Wow," KM breathes. "See ya!" She flounces out the door and disappears from sight.

"Hey!" Kande croaks from the floor. "If Bubba is doing mayoral duties, who's going to mind the bar?"
