KS is shaken to the core. Where are all these SMHs coming from? What does it mean? Is it an omen? Before she can scream for help, the SMHs have her bound and gagged. They stuff her into a burlap sack and drag her down the street, paying no regard to curbs, bricks, or broken glass. The streets are eerily silent as the procession moves around the corner and out of sight.

Bubba lets out a sigh of relief. It must have been an SMH wearing a pair of Kande's shoes. He peeks out of the alley, sees no one, then darts down the street and ducks into a doorway. He leans against the door to catch his breath. Suddenly, he's falling backward. He lands with a thud that knocks the breath out of him. Stunned, he lays there a moment, then opens his eyes and looks up. Someone is standing over him. He removes his glasses (they really aren't his prescription) and gasps. This is the last person he wanted to see!

Meanwhile, the SMHs have hurled the burlap sack with KS down a set of concrete steps. She is dragged into a room and a door is shut. The sack is untied, but KS is blindfolded before she can get a good look. She is lugged onto a table and strapped down. An electronically altered voice booms through a speaker.

"You have chosen to disregard your name. The Socialist Society of Shipperville has decided to give you a new name. It is *squawk*-un."

KS tries to ask the voice to repeat the name, but it comes out, "Unh uh uuuhh!"
