Subject: Advancing the mark 10 metres is STILL a waste a time (Take 2)

Regarding Westy's post ----

What a load of "BS" this notion of going thru a series of steps of which marching 10 metres is the 1st step.

What your effectively saying is that you'll allow two gob fulls of abuse before you end up sin binning on the 3rd gobful. Thats not acceptable in any way shape or form.

This problem needs to be eliminated from ball one

The only way to eliminate it is to do one of two things -

1. Change the current rule to allow the mark to be advanced much more than the current 10 metres. In AFL the 50 metre advancement is equivalent to 1/3rd of the length of the field. So in Rugby League a fair call in my opinion is to advance the mark 30 or 40 metres

2. If the powers that be will not allow the suggested rule change as described in item one above then referees united as a group need to make a stance and immediately start sin binning **EVERY** player who due to back chat is marched 10 metres. That will solve the problem quick smart !

As I previously pointed out, players treat the 10m advancing of the mark with distain, we now have players laughing at our officials who do this. The referees need to up to anti if they want to stop this sort of crap from festering into something even more serious than what is currently in play
