(ooc: yeah I agree. :3 should be interesting. xD and omg they added new boards! <3 Yay! hopefully if they add more they'd bring the pizza place and the apartments back. *crosses fingers* a park would be pretty cool too. o_o')

"Now with that I agree. Those glares are really creeping me out. And I thought the guys at work were bad."

If he wanted to seem impressive he could've led them outside out of view and gone all "White Fang" on them, but he'd need more coffee for that, and large abundances of alcohol, so he kept that thought to himself as well. Hopefully Midori couldn't read minds or something strange like that. "They're probably like thinking all "why can't we get a hot date but that little insect can?". he said jokingly, deepening his voice as he mimicked what he imagined they sounded like. Maybe a bit gruffer- they looked like people who'd go to pubs in large groups with their cigars and "mom" tattoos and order Jägerbombs or rum and coke. Or maybe he just had an over-active imagination.

"So that explains that accent of yours. But I wasn't thinking weird, cute is more like it. Jewish huh? Thats nice, I'm protestant and a bit religious. Hope you don't mind."

He smiled. Cute, huh? That was a first. He'd heard quite the colourful range of ways people had described his accent before, ranging from "where the hell are you from?" to a somewhat random "hybrid between German and Irish", to a bit more accurate "motley crue of British, Australian and something else nobody could quite figure out yet". "No, why would I mind?" he said with a small laugh, taking another sip of coffee. He couldn't bring himself to stick to a specific religion, he liked looking at and questioning things from an "outsider's perspective", so to speak, but he knew religion was a touchy subject so he didn't pursue it any further.

"Hm, thats a long story actually...better saved for another time, but the short version is that something terrible happened to my sister and I felt the need to go into something where i could make a difference, help people, and save those who were in danger and lost. I had always wanted to follow in my father's footsteps and be a cop, but i just took it a step further and pushed hard, and became the only female FBI agent in my district."

Oh, damn, seemed like he'd touched on a sensitive topic there. Why was he always the one making the social blunders in a conversation? He'd be making it a profession soon. When she'd finished he didn't reply for a few seconds, taking in what she'd said. "Wow." he finally said, nodding. "That's strange- you're the only woman in your district? I'd have thought there'd maybe be one or two others. Doesn that get awkward?" he paused for a moment. "I wouldn't know, I'm just hypothesizing." he said shortly after with a small dismissive wave of his hand. Maybe that was just on tv. It was always a case of "- just on tv". Max picked up his mug and drained the rest of his coffee. He held the mug lazily by the handle, examining it for a moment. "Funny, the mug looks alot bigger than it apparently is, judging by how quickly the coffee goes. Maybe there's a leak at the bottom." he raised the mug a bit and peered underneath, running a finger around the circular edge.

(ooc: Omg wtf I've had an eyelash stuck in my eye for like half an hour now. Dx)
