Sometimes things could be misleading. To the casual night adventurer, it appears as though the city had finally forced the wildlife to roam the streets. The white fox, ghostly in appearance, was drifting around the bases of large trashcans. She looked perfectly at home in the streets as though she’d been forced to hunt and scavenge for years in the city when it extended into her home. However, Cascade Mountains wasn’t a big enough of a city to choke out the wildlife. There was plenty of room for animals to find a natural habitat. The streets with their steaming street vents were a comfort to Lysette. They kept her tied to her human form even when she showed no resemblance of it.

She been wandering for about an hour, stretching her legs and exploring the streets and the trash collection people were piling up. There was a really nice chair she wanted, but even in human form she wouldn’t be able to lift it alone. Too bad she wasn’t a shifter into something macho, like a bear, that could have dragged it home.
She was hurrying back towards the subway so she could ask Verda for assistance. But as she bounded in a carefree manor down the steps, she almost tripped she halted her four legs so fast. A boy. Her eyes went wide. She considered turning and running back up the steps. His echoing voice halted her, though. He was definitely looking for something and she could smell the tracks of a dog having entered the subway but not having left.
