Subject: The crowd in the Klub turns green

...as sounds of retching come from the bathrooms in the back.
"Sheesh," Stardoe says faintly as a fresh bout starts, "how long has Kande been in there?"

"Four or five days," KS hollers from her table where she's still cleaning an assortment of weaponry.

"Should we call Aunt Madge?" Rabid asks nervously. "I think she should be about done at the hospital with the aftermath of the Mayor's debaucherous graduation."

"She's definitely got a bad case of food poisoning," CW informs KS as she plops herself down in a chair next to the nefarious assassin. She starts to fiddle with a grenade until KS slaps her hand. Sighing, she gets out her knitting and starts a fast and furious perling. All rise as the Mayor enters the building.

"Go ahead, sit down," she motions them down and tiredly drags out a chair for herself, giving Bubba the sign to bring her a drink. "Nothing alcoholic! I think I'm giving up alcohol after last week." Even the thought of alcohol brings a tinge of green to the Mayor's cheeks.

"Don't even think you're going to throw up," Stardoe walks over to her. "Kande's got the bathroom pretty tied up."

"What's wrong with her?" The Mayor eyes the group as she sips the tea Bubba brings her.

"Food poisoning." CW tells her grimly as she knits away. "KS, don't you think it's odd that your Dad has food poisoning too and he's not even in the same vicinity as Kande?"

KS slams down the stiletto she's been sharpening. The crowd jumps. Several tourists beat a hasty exit. "There's nothing odd about it! Kande will do anything to try to gain favor with the folks. This is just another of her ploys to be the favorite."

The others nod sagely. This reasoning makes perfect sense. All remember the time when Kande bungee jumped in New Zealand, making out her will to benefit her parents and momentarily gaining herself about 5 minutes worth of favoritism.

"I wonder where she managed to get food poisoning in the first place?" Rabid muses out loud.

"I can answer that," Stardoe marches Bubba out by his pointy green ear and points to the book that Bubba is trying to hide behind his back. Everyone gasps as they see that Bubba has been reading: "The Complete Idiot's Guide to French Cooking."
