Chapter 8: Suspicions
Meg returned to the guys' place with Talib. She wanted to spend some time with him and figured he wouldn't mind if she slept over. It wasn't a big deal, she always slept over anyway. Except this time, Talib was definitely not up to having company, especially in his bed. He got changed and climbed under the covers. Meg eyed him curiously, wondering what was the matter with him. She pushed it out of her mind and turned off the light. She climbed in next to him and put her arm n his waist. Talib showed no reaction and Meg kissed his neck. Talib gently pushed her away.
Meg: "Talib, what is wrong with you?"
Talib: "I just don't feel like doing anything okay? I'm tired."
Meg: "Like being tired has ever stopped you before"
Talib snapped: "Look, I've had a long day and I don't want to do anything," Meg sat up in bed and turned on the night table's lamp. She looked at him, not believing what was going on. What had happened to her boyfriend?
Meg: "Fine, I'm going to go home then." She got out and changed out of Talib's t-shirt and into her jeans and sweatshirt.
Meg: "Good night Talib Call me tomorrow if you're up to it."
Talib was torn on what he should do. A part of him wanted to call Meg back but the other part couldn't stop thinking about Terina. He sighed, leaned over to turn off the lamp and threw the covers over his head. It was late and he was tired. He'll deal with it in the morning.
Meg was storming down the stairs when someone called after her. She turned to see Lami standing at his bedroom door, looking out at her.
Lami: "Where are you going?"
Meg explained: "Home. Talib's not acting like himself so I'm going home"
Lami: "Alright, hang on... Nique's just on her way out. She can give you a ride. Don't want you walking."
Meg: "Thanks Lami, I'll be downstairs." She walked over to the family room and noticed Jiz, Liz, Nelly and Keisha watching Late Night With Conan O'Brien.
Meg: "Hey, Keisha? You staying here tonight?"
Keisha nodded: "Yeah, why?"
Meg: "I'm gonna head home. Nique's gonna give me a lift." The others looked up from the television and sensed something wasn't right. Nobody said anything, though. She said bye and they told her goodnight. Nique was downstairs moments later and they headed home.
As soon as they left, Liz looked over at the others.
Liz: "Anyone else think that didn't seem right?"
Keisha: "Yeah, I thought she was staying over"
Nelly: "I wonder what’s up with her and Talib?"
Jiz laughed: "Probably those damn hormones of that boy"

Once in the car, Nique asked Meg what was wrong. Meg told Nique the story and confided in her that she was suspicious of the time that Talib and Terina had spent together.
Nique: "Oh, don't be silly! They hate each other! There's no way!" not being able to hold back a giggle.
Meg: "Yeah, I guess you're right."
Nique: "Well, here ya go" she pulled up to Meg's house.
Nique: "Now get some sleep."
Meg: "Thanks, Nique."

Terina talked with Star for about an hour as she filled Star in on the details.
Star: "Ohmygod! Terina!! I never knew you were so wild!"
Terina laughed: "Hey, sometimes I surprise myself!"
Star: "Oh, hang on, I have a beep," she clicked over to the other line. Seconds later, she returned,
Star: "Teri? I gotta go. Talk to ya later?"
Terina: "Of course! ‘Night Star!"
Star went back to the other line.
Star: "Hey Nique, what's up?"
Nique: "Ya know what's weird? Talib isn't acting like himself. Meg is so distraught over this that I had to drive her home. She even told me that she suspected something had happened between Terina and Talib while they were in the store! Isn't that outrageous!?"
