Everyone is at a disadvantage when speaking with their second language and despite the decades Telcoltl had formed English tones, he occasionally slipped into such rough and foreign tongues they were often not understandable. This was the case with his reply to Emmaline. He was feeling such a rush at the mere fact that he had her on a date- even if she didn’t realize—words spilt out without thought backing them. His smile was a smug one as the patrons turned back to their beverages emitting a type of disgusted jealousy that Telcoltl was the man with such a beautiful woman. Sure Telcoltl had looks- but he was also pale and lean, shorter than most males, and silently submissive tonight.
As she slid into the booth, he followed with that small smile plastered to his lips. “Anything you want.” He moved the rolled napkin out of the way of his elbow. “And just call me Telly. I hate the uppity formality of “Master”…I sound like my dad.” He gave a joking eye roll to lessen the insult to their beloved Dimitri. “So, how’s my brother keeping you?”
