(ooc: I like both ideas, lol. I'm an action junkie. >_>' Max isn't aware of anyone who'd be looking for him, though, but maybe some sort of pro-human "down with all oddities!" type of person could've followed them and be waiting outside around a corner to jump him/her/both of them/anyone not human or something, or as you said the men can take a liking to Midori and follow them on their way out and then we take it from there? I donno, I'm just gesticulating wildly here. xD Thanks about the pictures. ^_^ And for the welcome text, lol, totally groovy. <3)

"I was thinking maybe next time you could just call me without me having to bump into you with some aspirin."

"Ah, but I'll need your number for that, though." he said, a playful glimmer crossing his eyes, subconciously drumming on the sides of his coffee mug with his fingernails. He saw her shake her head, her eyes falling on a spot somewhere over his shoulder, and he turned to see what she was looking at. Somehow he wasn't surprised that it was the trio that had just walked in. They were throwing glances in their direction that Max didn't quite like. He'd have been ready to hit them with some clever remark, but he felt like a zombie at the moment and they were bigger than him, so they'd probably be able to squash him like a bug if he did. Instead he turned his attention back to the front. "What a sorry-ass lot they are." he said with a smirk, loudly enough for Midori to hear but quietly enough for no one else to, taking a sip of coffee.

"Actually, I'm looking for a place to move into. The hotel I am staying at is kinda creeping me out.I used to just come for business, but I am relocating here for at least two years, and if i like it, I might stay here altogether. There is a base just about an hour away from Cascade so I can still be at an office. What about you Max?"

He listened to her speaking, intrigued. He felt like saying if she felt uneasy at the hotel that she could stay at his place anytime, but that would be weird. He'd known her for about an hour or two and, well, there was hardly even any space for him, so he decided to keep that thought to himself. "Urgh, me. Ok, uh, let's see..." he thought for a moment, as if trying to remember who "me" was. "I'm not from Cascade either, I only moved here about a month ago. Born and raised in Cape Town- that's in South Africa, if you were wondering about the weird accent- and, uh..." his voice trailed off again, trying to think of something else even remotely interesting about himself, "I'm Jewish?" he said with a shrug. "Well, my family is, I'm not really religious. Not that that's got anything to do with where I live- I'm going off topic here, I'm sorry." he said with a small laugh, cocking an eyebrow at himself. He could sort of feel the caffeine beginning to slowly resurrect him, so he took another gulp of coffee. "So, what got you into the FBI? I mean, you know, it's not usually a woman's first choice of career."
