I have only read the first one of this thread, to avoid S8 or 9 spoilers, but I think it is good news. This is no criticism of the remaining cast - I mean, I haven't even seen S8 yet! But I think if C20th Fox has decided to pull the plug, it is the sensible way to go. I still believe that TXF is Mulder and perhaps the powers that be are at last looking at the product in a creative sense rather than as a money making mega-franchise! (I don't believe that for a second)

But still, if this press release is a true statement, I think we can feel good about the existing body of work: a fantastic collection which we can all enjoy watching and talking about for a long time to come!
