He shakes himself off. "Wow, it's really coming down out there."

The Shippervillians look at each other. What's he talking about? What's coming down? KS mentally counts the nuclear bombs she has stashed in CW's basement. Whew, he can't possibly be talking about fall-out. Stardoe goes over to the Klub door.

"It's snowing!" she exclaims. She adjusts the bikini she's been habitually wearing and borrows a sweater from CW.

"Snowing!" Kande grumbles. Now she'll have to shovel the walk again and then plow the street. The Mayor has passed an ordinance that each person -- except her esteemed self -- must clear the street in front of their business/home.

"Goody!" The Mayor exclaims and then pounds on the bar again to get everybody's attention. "I know what we'll do special this year: we'll have a bike ride!"

"Bike ride! Is this some kind of crazy Canadian idea?" Stardoe shudders inside her sweater. She's never felt such bone-chilling cold.

"Actually, it's an Iowan idea," KS explains. "In Des Moines, they have a bike ride in February every year called Brrr."

"What a stupid idea," somebody in the back mutters. "Who'd go on something like that?"

Everybody turns around and looks at Kande.
