Ezra swallowed. Did he... what? Know of the oddies? He was one of them. If that was what she had meant to ask, the only reasons he could think of for her wanting to know was either she was "one of those" herself, or one of those people assigned to hunt them and was trying to get him to blow his cover. Except, she sounded as if it had been a subject she'd tried to avoid, or was uncertain about, or something. People who were after "oddies" generally, somehow, had a pretty good idea when they'd found their target. She didn't seem like that. Or maybe she was just curious, as anybody would be. He felt stupid for being so suspicious. If there'd been a wall in front of him he'd be banging his head against it.

"I... if you mean the, um, other sort of... 'people' that live here, like, 'oddies', or supernatural beings, or whatever you call them, then... yeah I, uh, I do know a little about them." He answered slowly, formulating his reply in his head as he spoke and making a terrific mess of it. If Ezra had wanted to remain completely hidden, this was not his moment. He'd never been a very good liar. Except he hadn't really been lying, if he was one of "them" himself then of course he'd know about them, how could he not? The whole "concealing his identity" or "concealing it enough not to create suspicion" hadn't gone very well, though. "If you meant something else then ignore everything I just said, I just got out today." he gave a small half-hearted laugh.
