Sure instant space travel would revolutionize economy and structure of the empire but, how do you explain the lack of the slower travel in the originals? Do we still have sail boats? Do we still fly blimps? How about bicycles, trains, and cruise ships? No where is it mentioned in the originals that space flight was as easy as the pre's state it is before the spice.

The closest star to the sun is about 4.5 LYs away. to traverse this distance even in a couple of months would be a miracle to us now. This is speed of many factors more than the speed of light. Why aren't others using it in the books?

Yes the age apps and B.G. uses for spice are great and profound, but the highlight of spice for me at least the way it let the Guild travel instantly. But now that feat is surmounted by the feat of the people in the earlier pre's.

They are both far fetched ideas. Instant travel or 100 times the speed of light? Both miracles.
