Celefé absorbed the words, her luminous silver eyes shining as they gazed upon the distant pales shores Lenariah spoke of. Tales of the sea had always enchanted her; the white foreign birds, tangy air and steady rhythm of the waves. Their mother, Tevion and Celefé's, had spoken of it much and with what seemed a great longing, although they were never quite sure why.

Unconsciously, Celefé's slender hand sought out the necklace at her throat. It was a rather simple piece; a short silver chain with a small yet flawless spiraled shell resting between a pair of silver orbs. She'd drawn the wire for the chain herself when she first learned forging techniques, and the spheres were a simple touch. Celefé had been proud of her first solo effort, as well as being pleased that now she could carry her mother's gift with her always.

Tevion had sat incredibly still, hunched over in the delicate saddle and arms draped across the horse's neck. He looked as if he was intending to go to sleep right then and there. The only noticable sign that he might have heard Lenariah was the occasional twitch of his rein-holding hand.

In truth, he was very glad that he'd chosen a relaxed stance for listening to their guest, for her words were having the same effect on him as they were his sister. There was a stirring of his memories, mostly those entailing some involvement of his mother no matter how brief. And as these merry remembrances began to dwindle, the emotions he'd long known too well began to surface. He remained with his head bowed to conceal the glossiness of his eyes while he, again, was chewed out by guilt, self-loathing and worthlessness.

Passing the back of his hand quickly across his eyes, the male sibling took hold of Lenariah's heel and gave it a gentle downward tug. "Right then... you want to keep your heels down, think of all you weight being in them." His volume was normal, but he wouldn't meet her eyes and it seemed quite like he was talking to himself. "I've got to- we should be stopping soon- talk... someone up there..." With this last incoherent stream of words he took off up the line with no glance back.

Watching her brother's back for a few moments, Celefé returned to Lenariah. She'd a notion as to what had occurred, but was unsure if she should explain or not. "He's odd like that at times... Might you know of any interesting songs or poems?"
