"I put two stamps on each of those postcards," KS tells JD who has just told her the appalling news. She stops for a minute and peers into Kande's mouth at her broken tooth. The two have Kande trussed up like a stuck pig in the dental chair. "How much does it cost to send a postcard to Canada anyway? More than it takes to smuggle in a nuclear device apparently." KS is still stung that the Canadian authorities had taken away her warhead. She hadn't actually planned to use the darn thing, she just wanted it for threat appeal.

In the chair, Kande stirs and moans. KS looks at her in exasperation. After Kande had fainted, KS had started working on her tooth, but Kande had woken up and demanded anesthesia. "Wimp." KS thinks to herself. She motions for JD to give Kande another shot in the jaw.

Rabid enters the room as KS is applying the cap. "You do know it's the latest style to file those down, right?"

"Yes, Rabid," KS replies patiently as she motions to JD for her file. "You and your friends have made that the style here in Shipperville."

Rabid flashes her own pointy-sharp incisors and fluffs her hair. "We are trendsetters!" she declares proudly and giggles.

KS eyes her as she files Kande's tooth. It's not like Rabid to giggle. And she's dressed decidedly un-librarianish. She'd better not have a crush on JD, KS thinks to herself as she inscribes her usual assassin signature to the inside of Kande's cap. The signature is an eensy picture of a weapon, in Kande's case, a tiny bomb. Rabid's stylish incisors have a stake and a coffin on the backside of hers, although she doesn't know it.

"You have a date?" KS inquires of Rabid as she finishes her signature and cranks the chair back up. Kande's head lolls to the side and she drools copiously over the front of her shirt.

"We're having a party as soon as the Mayor leaves for her annual trip," Rabid says excitedly. "The Buffy gang is coming over."

The Mayor's leaving! This gives KS an idea.
