Ravin nodded in agreement when Isobel said she felt that slavery was an inhuman practice. As far as he knew, slavery was predominant in Bizmar and many of the neighboring cities. Hopefully, one day it would be outlawed along with other unsavory practices.

A huge smile came to his face when he noticed Jade standing in the doorway of the kitchen. Erlic looked especially pleased to see the beautiful woman again. There seemed to be something special developing between the couple. Ravin noticed that Erlic appeared to be a lot happier since meeting Jade, and he hoped that things worked out well for them. He finished his java then gave Isobel a kiss on her cheek before they got to their feet and accompanied the others to the supply store.

Tia placed herself between Argus and Corum as the group made their way down the stairs beneath the trap door. Her eyes widened in fear when she saw all the zombies that awaited them in the cavern below then she jumped when Corum practically shouted in her ear. "IT'S CLOBBERIN TIME."

"If you ever do that again, I'm gonna be the one clobberin you!" she muttered, before withdrawing her knives. She threw them at an advancing zombie, knocking the creature right off its feet. Tia ducked behind a stalagmite then withdrew her sword with her right hand while palming another throwing knife with her left. She took a deep breath then ran out to assist Corum who was busy battling another zombie.

Ravin managed to kill a pair of the slow moving zombies with his throwing knives before having to withdraw his sword. He was about to rush toward another zombie when he saw the lich rising up from the sarcophagus. Since the lich seemed to be a greater threat than the zombies he changed his course, making a mad dash for the sarcophagus. As he neared the thing the lich pointed a bony finger at him. Some kind of unseen force that felt like a block of ice, slammed into the thief's shoulder knocking him back several feet, forcing him to his knees.

Ravin dropped his sword when his fingers went numb from intense cold. He sat upon the ground, ignoring the pain in his shoulder and flexing his right hand, hoping to regain some feeling it in. While he did so, he eased a throwing knife out from the sheath at his calf with his left hand and flung it at the lich. The monster let out a horrid scream when the blade sunk into its thigh. "That was a bad shot Rue," the thief mumbled, since he had been aiming for the lich's skull. His body shook as he picked up his sword with his left hand and got back to his feet. Whatever spell the lich cast at him had left him freezing for the moment, but he couldn't think about trying to warm up yet because there was a zombie headed directly for him.
