Chapter 4: Revelations

Talib turned onto his side and supported his head up with his hand.
Talib looking at her: "So, tell me something about yourself."
Terina laughed to herself that he was trying to make small talk with her. She turned to face him.
Terina: "What? Mr. Hot-shot wants to get to know me?!"
Talib:"Is that what you think of me?" suddenly very serious. Terina realized she may have offended him.
Terina: "Well, sorta... You sometimes seem so full of it..."
Talib: "And that's why you don't like me huh?" Terina nodded. Talib rolled off his bed and jumped beside her onto her bed.
Talib: "Well, let's change that. We'll talk and get to know each other. Start over..."
Terina smiled: "Okay, sounds good."
Talib: "So? Tell me something about you."
Terina: "Hmmm... hey, you know, if I have to answer, so do you..."
Talib: "Answer the question, Teri."
Terina: "Okay, well, I used to dance. I've stopped because I just don't have the time now, being in university”
Talib amazement: "You were a dancer!?" He never would have guessed that such a serious and danced.
Talib asked: "What are you majoring in?" genuinely interested in what she was telling him.
Terina replied with a grin: "Film and theatre arts. Okay, your turn"
Talib: "I used to have a band when I was younger... we used to call ourselves The Funky Chickens..." he admitted sheepishly. (not true but I made it up)
Terina burst out laughing: "I'm sorry... that's just such a funny name!"
Talib: "Fine, fine... laugh it up. But nothing we say here leaves here, ya got it?" he smiled. He watched Terina try to stifle her giggles.
Talib thought: ‘She was so cute when she laughed'

Jarell: "Hey Lami, Talib still not back yet?"
Lami looked across the hall to Talib's room.
Lami: "Nope, guess not. I wonder who this ‘friend' is that he's getting a ride from anyway?" he laughed.
Jarell joked: "So, we shouldn't expect him back at all tonight then huh?"
Lami: "Guess not!"
Jarell: "Ya think Megan knows about this 'friend'?"
Lami reasoned: "Maybe it IS Meg"

Terina: "We're really not gonna get outta here," she looking around at the empty store.
Talib: "Does it matter?"
Talib and Terina had become a lot more comfortable with each other. They had talked and shared stories and stories about themselves with each other for the past few hours. Terina giggled and shoved Talib. He pretended that she had pushed him hard and that he was about to fall off the edge of the bed.
Talib: "Woah!" he waving his arms. Terina reached out and grabbed his arm to prevent him from falling but instead, he ended up pulling her down with him. Talib landed on his back and Terina landed on top of him, both of them giggling like little children.
Talib: "See, this is why you should lighten up and smile more..." She rolled her eyes and smiled down at him.
Talib: "I'm serious! You look..." he paused, as he looked into her eyes.
Talib:"You look really pretty when you laugh..."
Terina: "Oh, whatever Talib..." she tried to shove him over so she could get up. He held onto her, not letting her go.
Talib: "You're not gonna believe me are you?" She shook her head.
Terina: "Nope, ‘cause you probably say that to all the girls." He looked at her and released his hold on her left hand as he moved his hand to her cheek. He pulled her down to him as he raised his head to meet her's. He kissed her passionately, his hands influencing her closer. She responded and ran her fingers through his hair and down the back of his neck.
