He was amazed at how quiet the town was. The place had been teeming with life years ago...you'd be nearly shoulder to shoulder with people as you walked the streets. It had been bothersome then, but now the town had such lost feeling of desertedness that he missed the throes of strangers. What would the others think?

He'd been suprised to hear Tumbler's voice on the line just days ago. Freb, who'd been keeping them all updated, had informed him years prior that Tumbler'd caught most of the heat for the ring. Taken one for the team, so to speak. But he hadn't known he'd been released, and when the other man had asked him to go back west, he had quickly agreed. There was unfinished business here. People that needed to be seen, things to be explained. He didn't know what Tumbler wanted with the old town, but his heart had been set on Laurie Ann. He'd never been able to get those bright, crystalline eyes out of his head. What she'd ever seen in a greaser like him he'd never known.

He barely heard the approach of the Audi--he never had been quite as cautious as the rest. He did head the engine shift as it slowed, and turned to see the dark window rolling down. The ride was sweet, even if he wasn't necessarily a fan of working on imports.

He stopped to peer at the person who was pulling over, prepared to tell them that no, he didn't have any directions--but the sweet voice that meets his ears silences him immediately. As his dark blue eyes met her lighter ones, he struggles to process what he's seeing. The very woman he'd been mulling over, praying over, and hoping to see...right there before him. "Laurie..." He says, taking a step toward the car, but not too close. He figured she'd be mad, and while he didn't think she'd necessarily try to mow him over, he would benefit from excercising caution in this instance. "Somewhere...anywhere...with you, if your offer stands. We need to talk."
