Anything can happen at Nationals I know, there’s no guarantee because it’s subjective. However, there’s so many ways cheating occurs now, you have schools constantly posting some dancers in full costume announcing their achievements regularly, some teachers are networking with judges overseas and plugging their star dancers, you have schools affiliated with overseas teachers and adjudicators. I don’t have anyone dancing anymore but feel this is so unfair on the dancers. They all deserve to be judged fairly and not have some other schools doing and receiving favours.
Watching on feis tv it seems obvious that this is happening, this is an expensive sport now and the cheating & cost is showing in our very low numbers

Very disappointed to have discovered that the Senior Men’s Champions were drunk during their presentations and were seated at the bar for most of the afternoon.
And when the FeisTv interviews started, one dropped the f bomb, not only in front of many young dancers that look up to them but many around the world watching.
What example are the senior dancers setting for the next generation, and what happened to the humble and respectful nature of senior men prior.
If I were their teachers, I would of made them hand in their trophies.

Imagine voting JMC to judge one of our majors. He holds a top CLRG position, and ignored all the complaints, cheating & sex scandals. AIDA must be desperate or, seeking cheating places for their dancers to select him, jeezus. Of all the adjudicators to pick from, it beggars belief he’s selected, then filled up the majority of the remaining spots with judges who don't even teach. No wonder people are leaving in droves.

For the past 21 months CLRG has been deeply immersed in addressing the historical allegations of wrongdoing at CLRG competitions stemming from complaints received in 2022, while at the same time working to introduce real change and reform across our organisation.
From my previous correspondence, you will be aware of the great effort and time invested by CLRG in creating an external, independent disciplinary process to conduct hearings for those individuals facing disciplinary, with the first hearings beginning in 2023.
It is with great regret that I must now inform you that CLRG is no longer in a position to pursue further disciplinary action against those individuals accused of wrongdoing.
This decision was taken by Coiste Faire on behalf of CLRG, and these individuals are now being contacted by our legal team.
I have no doubt many you will be extremely frustrated by this decision, as am I. Unfortunately, it is a necessary and unavoidable course of action at this time.
I would like to note the actions that have been taken by CLRG in recent times to strengthen the processes and procedures around adjudication, helping ensure fair competition and effective adjudication.
Enhanced competition and adjudication procedures were introduced in advance of the 2023 All Ireland Championships that continue to be strictly adhered to and enforced at all CLRG competitions. The procedure for selecting adjudicators for competitions was also amended so that all registered 2,300 CLRG Teachers and Members have a vote in the process.
CLRG is undergoing a modernisation and transformation process, guided by the recommendations of the independent strategic review that took place last year. A new Managing Director has been appointed, with further changes expected in the near future, including the development of a new, robust disciplinary code of practice.
I fully acknowledge how disappointed CLRG Teachers and Members will be with today's news.
However, I would encourage you to continue to place your faith in the organisation as we move forward to best represent the interests of trish dancing across the globe.

Wondering if there is a way that AIDA can attract more overseas competitors to the AIO. When it started, they’re were way more overseas competitors which made for more interesting competitions. Would you prefer nationals running Tue-Sat or Wed-Sun? I know not all states have the Monday as a public holiday, so finishing on Saturday allows people to travel home on the Sunday. But what about parents who are working? Would starting later in the week and finishing on Sunday mean less time off work? Are airfares cheaper if you travel back on a Saturday/Sunday rather than the Monday? I found it was cheaper to leave on the Sunday of a long weekend but it meant missing the Ceili.

- The amount of dancer promotion the past few weeks has been insane. I know it happens every year but this year it feels like it’s increased so much. So many schools posting photos of their dancers from the AIO…. Which was months ago….. to promote their dancers. Why not post the photos as soon as the AIO finished rather than a couple weeks out from nationals. I am all for celebrating dancer achievements, but don’t use those photos as promotion. I’ve noticed more and more TCRG are dressing in colours to match their champion dancer. In the current environment of the cheating scandal, I can’t help wonder if this is just another way to communicate to the judges “this is my dancer”? Just wondered if anyone else is seeing this trend and whether you think it could really make a difference?

Just reading a post on the UK board about dress prices and am shocked! Someone saying they paid €3,000 for a COS dress and another £2,500 for Doire. Both of these are basically $AUD5,000. No wonder people are dropping out of Irish dance, add in import duty and gst if bringing in the dress to Australia and most families are priced out of the game. How do these dressmakers justify these costs? Is it the crystas added that increase the price so much? How do other Aussies afford a brand new dress, what are Aussie dressmakers charging? Yes there is used, but not every body type suits a used dress.
