Under the ministrations of JD and a new toyboy, Clark Kent from Smallville, KS is recovering nicely. She sits up in bed and smoothes the tee shirt she sleeps in as Kande comes storming into the room.

"Bubba just gave me this!" Kande screeches, throwing herself into the lounge chair next to the TV JD and Clark had lugged up the stairs so KS could watch her few remaining favorite TV shows. Actually, Clark had carried it up on the tip of one finger, showing off his super powers for an admiring KS. JD had just stood at the bottom of the stairs and glowered at him, then had gone into the kitchen and whipped up one of his culinary delights for KS to savor. All these favors from her favorite men had led to a bout of marathon...I digress. Back to Kande.

Dragging her mind back to the present and off the muscles of the manpower in her house, KS looks mildly at Kande. "What, so you got some mail? Something other than bills and fliers from pizza parlors?"

"Oh yes, I got mail," Kande lowers her voice and looks around for bugs. KS raises one eyebrow and Kande quickly remembers how often KS de-bugs her house, not that anyone else in Shipperville really knows how to do an adequate job. "Look." Kande puts the offending envelope on KS's pristine chenille bedspread.

KS takes a breath. Does she really want to know what's in the envelope? After all, she is still recovering both from Strep Throat and Stardoe's antidote. Actually, Stardoe had mixed antidotes and given her the wrong one at first. She'd quickly realized her error when KS grew fangs and fur. Thankfully, that had been easy to rectify, not that KS would forget about it any time soon. She slowly reaches out and touches one forefinger to the battered envelope.

Kande is watching her. "What's the matter, scared?" she jeers.

That's it. KS is opening it. She tears it open and her face pales. She puts one hand to her throat.

"See, see what I mean!" Kande warbles, jabbing her finger at the letter.
