Lonesome was right. She had scarcely felt more alone in her life, and sulking on a bench by herself felt like a damn good way to deal with it. Natasha had barely spoken a dozen words in the past few days of travel. Her most intimate acquaintances were baristas. But what a coincidence that as soon as she began to feel most desolate, another soul appeared out of the blue. She'd seen the other person right as he emerged from the alley, and initially had paid him no mind. But then he was approaching her. Her eyebrows quirked in mild wonder, her face still a picture of idyllic serenity, though internally her mind raced with questions. Who is he? Is he a threat? She chastised herself for immediately jumping to that line of thought. She ought not to judge people she's never met.

She cleared her throat to answer. "Um...of course...sit wherever you want." She turned her head away slightly, looking down the street, embarrassed all of a sudden though she didn't know why. It passed momentarily, and she looked down at her shoes, still quiet. Another moment passed, and she glanced sideways at him, evaluating. He didn't appear to be a threat, and she didn't sense any malevolent intentions in his demeanor. In fact he seemed uncomfortable. She tapped her fingers a few times against the bench, thinking hard. He looked pale and unwell. Was he sick? She could fix that of course, but should she reveal herself to a complete stranger? The part of her brain fixed on survival urged her not to say anything more, but her compassionate side was winning over... she should just ask, to be sure. "Are you all right?" she asked him, smiling slightly in spite of herself. What a creep she must look like.
