Bounder had been slightly abashed to see backup arrive for Fox, but he soon regained his confidence. Fox was getting on in years, although he was a cub compared to Bounders own father. These two reds didnt look much of a threat either. The female was very young, barely older than Warrior, and had a dozy air about her as if she spent large portions of the day watching clouds. Admittedly she had been growling rather menacingly but she was now just looking soppy rather than scary. Her male companion looked frozen, probably with fear Bounder thought. The blue laughed outright.
"The great defenders of the farthing Fox! A little girly vixen and her pet rock! Forgive me if I dont run for the hills," he said smirking. He was secretly a bit apprehensive, as now he and his brother were outnumbered 3:2, but they still had the advantage. They had that helpless fox in the ditch. One snap and she would be dead. Bounder wasnt planning to actually kill the vixen himself, in case her nasty looking condition was contagious, but he wasnt going to tell the enemy that. He purposefully yawned and took a deliberate step toward the vixen in the ditch. "Warrior, how many foxes have you killed? Do you want this one? Or shall we take it as another prisoner? What with the cubs dead and everything. They were pathetic. To think they are the same age as you, brother! They may as well have been newborns!" He took another step toward the vixen. He wasnt entirely sure what he would do. What he wanted to happen was for one of the other reds to offer themselves as sacrifices. Then he could take a prisoner back for his father without touching the sick vixen but without loosing face either. He glanced at his brother, hoping for a bit of support.
