.:. Yes, Zeth did know a thing or two ((maybe three)) about getting too comfortable in a city and making friends and lovers. Things always seemed to get more complicated than you could ever really expect. The worries and concerns multiplied rapidly in the darkness of the night. In fact, Zeth’s concerns grew steadily even in the light. He listened with more than just his ears. He listened to her body language and he listened for excess mental charges; something about watermelon? He didn’t quiet follow that thought. Her mind was like a steel trap. It would open occasionally and he could peer in and then just as suddenly it would snap close and send him reeling back into his own thoughts and memories. He wasn't sure if she controlled this flood gate or it was a random occurrence.

She was complex, to say the least about her. She was beautiful, he had noticed, but there was no sexual appeal in her frame for him. He was just an admirer of beauty. He lifted the glass of tea to his lips and felt the crystals of sugar, still somewhat undiluted, slide down his throat. He licked the remaining tea from his lower lip which left the petal shimmer in the lighting of the kitchen.

She spoke more now than she had all night. While she spoke she also revealed a little bit more about her past. So, she’d been with a vampire and was now technically a vampire. The comment sparked a memory of Ashena and the deed he’d done to her. Maybe this was how Tarot’s life had spun downwards into this turmoil? He didn’t ask. He was more afraid of the awkwardness it would bring than the answer she’d give. But most of her friends were vampires and her family obviously didn’t approve. He took another sip of his tea before setting it back into the ring of water it had created. Even without ice, the drink was chilled perfectly.

“So, I guess your family isn’t vampire friendly.” It was an offhand comment but one that pushed thoughts of violence through his head. Hopefully she was right and her brother wasn’t a great tracker. Zeth didn’t want to have to attempt murder on anyone who was doing the same in return. Zeth was also the type to pick an easy battle. This could be the reason why Briallan and Zeth pulled so much as each other’s hair. They were opposites and therefore attractable. Damn genetics.

Zeth’s eyes glanced to the clock on the wall, noting the time without effort. Where was Alicia? Zeth wasn’t controlling in some aspect of his life but if he wasn’t allowed to go out and have a keen time, neither was she. They had spoken about buying a new dinette set but surely she wanted to do that with him. He took another nervous sip of tea. He looked back to Tarot for her answer. He could tell she grew sleepy and could feel the same tugging at him. He was also in the mood for some good whiskey. .:.
