![]() ![]() Max had a final drag on his cigarette. He kneeled down to snub it on the pavement and flicked the stump into the drain. There weren't any bins around and he certainly wasn't going to leave now to go look for one, and he was just a tiny bit too self-conscious to simply leave it there on the pavement. He got up again, dusting his hands off on his jeans. Hey. I'm Midori. Odd name, I know. "No, no, I like it." he said with a small smirk. He dug his hands into the pockets of his hoodie, fumbling idly with the packet of cigarettes. Midori, eh? It certainly wasn't a name you'd hear everyday, but in his books that was a good thing. He was concidering offering her a cigarette, but was slightly hesitant. For some people smoking was a huge no-no and, well, "a turn-off", he thought, a slight feeling of sheepishness tugging at the back of his mind. He'd known her for a grande total of five minutes and already he was getting images and ideas into his head. Shame on him. But still, he wasn't usually one to let a pretty girl pass without at least learning her name. You look like you have been through a rough fight there Max. You sure you're okay? "What?" for a second she had him puzzled there, but after that second the penny dropped. "Oh that. Hah, no, it's nothin." he said with a small dismissive wave of his hand and couldn't hide the amused grin at her apparent genuine concern. He wasn't about to tell her he got his ass kicked on a pub crawl, now was he? Max finally took out his packet of cigarettes and held it out to her before taking one himself. "So, uh, what do you do?" he asked, lighting his cigarette as he motioned with his eyes towards the holster on her hip. |
