Traveller had followed Dreamer less enthusiasticly. It was still icy in parts of the part and the going was not easy, so he wasnt exactly leaping for joy. However, Dreamer seemed pretty determined to help out whoever the blues were preying on and Traveller was not going to leave his mate to waltz into danger. No way.
He recognised the Famous Farthing Wood Fox instantly, although he had never actually seen him. Dreamer was very like her sister Charmer and this old male fox was the spitting image of Dreamers litter-sister, although male and darker. So his mate had been right! Traveller was glad that they had gone to help. The two blues, both obviously related, were quite a lot younger than Fox and fame did not help you much when you are outnumbered. Plus, if he made a good impression on Dreamers father perhaps it would be a good thing.

Branberry heard the arrival of another fox with terror. From her spot in the ditch, inching her way along, she couldnt see who was arriving but she was certain it was more blue enemies. She made as if to scramble out of the ditch but slipped on the frostiness and fell back, shuddering.

Traveller caught a glimpse of a red in a ditch and he was filled with a wave of compassion. The poor creature looked scabby and half dead. So that was why Fox was there! He was saving that half dead creature from merciless blues. The creature moved and Traveller stepped back in horror as he recognised his own mother. It was his relative looking so ill, his relative being tormented by blues! Traveller staggered back for a moment in shock. Surprise had frozen his reactions and all he could do was stand stock still, gaping.
